| BanDeMar
partners with Cerritos College
BanDeMar and Cerritos College join forces to
create a novel interactive distance learning
training and assessment system with the
objective of teaching and improving the skills
and updating the knowledge of the manufacturing
workforce using intelligent written, graphical
and "hands-on" instructional and evaluative
techniques. The proposed online workforce
education system will use live and archived
video and audio, numerical and 2-D graphical
data, 3-D models, and 2-D and 3-D animations for
interactively training and assessing workforce
employees with the objective of improving
workplace manufacturing skills.

| Liberty Science
Center, NASA GSFC, BanDeMar to develop the
Global Microscope
Liberty Science Center and NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center team up with
BanDeMar to increase awareness and interest in
the relationship between localized environmental
factors (including manmade consequences) with
long-term global environmental dynamics.
This outreach education program, called the Global
Microscope, presents live high-definition
hyperspectral satellite data on interactive video
projection spheres that preserve the perceptual
link between local and global phenomenology as the
observer varies the Global Microscope’s spatial
and temporal scale of view. Road show and
exhibit curriculum builds upon the aesthetic
beauty of global imagery and interest in the
environmental day-to-day status of one’s region
(e.g., weather, gardening factors, pollution, and
development), and achieves an awareness of causal
links between the two.

| UniCamp and
BanDeMar Networks Develop Mobile Computer Labs
UniCamp and BanDeMar Networks Develop Mobile
Computer Labs for underprivileged children in
southern California by promoting technology
awareness. The mobile computer
lab with workstations and a satellite linkup is
for portable or stationary use by underprivileged
children attending the various camps, offering
computer training and Internet access services.
The youth-based project will engage middle through
high school children to learn and apply diverse
Internet technologies in a camp setting.
Students will design and implement publicly
accessible web sites on favorite local
celebrities. The difficulty of student projects
will be commensurate with the student’s knowledge
of information technology (IT), and will span the
range from authoring a simple static web page all
the way to streaming interactive multimedia and
network security. Raising technology
awareness through initiatives like Computer Labs
is one way to bridge the digital divide in
communities that lack funding, local facilities,
or Internet connectivity.
