National Science Foundation
The National Science Foundation (NSF) is an independent federal agency created by Congress in 1950 "to promote the progress of science; to advance the national health, prosperity, and welfare; to secure the national defense…" NSF funds 20 percent of all federally supported basic research conducted by America's colleges and universities. In many fields such as mathematics, computer science and the social sciences, NSF is the major source of federal backing.


NASA Goddard Space Flight Center
Established in 1959 as NASA's first space flight center, Goddard houses the Nation's largest organization of scientists and engineers dedicated to studying the Earth, Sun, Solar System, and Universe.  Every day, Goddard generates 3 Terabytes of data on the Earth's environment (air, land, and sea) which is invaluable to industries ranging from land development to fishing and agriculture to recreation.


New Jersey Institute of Technology
As a major public technological university, NJIT offers 92 degree programs (33 undergraduate, 40 master's and 19 doctoral programs) through six schools and multidisciplinary research centers that secure over $70MM annually.  NJIT is also the home of New Jersey's oldest and largest incubator facility, and it operates several outreach centers that provide direct technical assistance to state businesses with the goal of helping small and medium-sized companies become more productive, profitable, and globally competitive.


The Liberty Science Center
Liberty Science Center is the most visited museum in New Jersey and one of the most intensively used in the country. Since opening in 1993, LSC has introduced nine million people to the wonder and awe of hands-on science discovery. Our distinctive experiences and science roadshows engage, educate and inspire.  LSC supports regional economic growth connecting with businesses, working with planning authorities, and helping to prepare a workforce that industry needs.


UMDNJ School of Public Health
Jointly sponsored by UMDNJ, Rutgers‚ the New Jersey Institute of Technology, and the Public Health Research Institute, SPH conducts research in Urban Health Administration, Biostatistics, Environmental and Occupational Health, Epidemiology, Health Education and Behavioral Science, and Health Systems and Policy.


Applied Research Laboratory, Penn State University
The Applied Research Laboratory at Penn State is an integral part of one of the leading research universities in the nation and serves as a university center of excellence in Defense science and technologies, with a focus in naval missions and related areas. As a DoD-designated, Navy UARC (University Affiliated Research Center), ARL maintains a long-term strategic relationship with the Navy and provides support for the other services. ARL provides science and technology for national security, economic competitiveness and quality of life through education, scientific discovery, technology demonstration, and transition to application.


Ministerio de Industria, Turismo y Comercio
The Ministry of Industry, Tourism, and Commerce (MITYC) defines and executes the Spanish government's policies to industrial development, and the promotion of small-to-medium business, tourism, foreign trade, energy, and telecommunications. In the first three quarters of 2006, the MITYC has awarded over 2.1 million euros ($2.7B) in research and development projects, primarily in the area of information technology.


Universidad de Malaga
Since it creation only 25 years ago, the University of Malaga in the Spanish Costa del Sol has become both a cultural revitalizing factor and a technology research and development center. Its two million square meters contain diverse departments in the sciences and humanities, with Medicine, Engineering, Economics being the largest.  The University of Malaga and the Technological Park of Andalusia constitutes two  of the vertices of the "productive triangle" of the city (third is the airport), joined by a continuous flow of ideas, professionals of high qualification, and advanced technologies.


University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey
UMDNJ hosts over 5,000 future healthcare professionals and research scientists and its healthcare facilities, doctors' offices and community clinics counted more than two million patient visits last year. Researchers are currently working in more than 2,000 areas of investigation.


The Health Television System Inc.
HealthTV and The Parent Channel are the leading producer and broadcaster of branded patient education television, seen annually by more than 3 million viewers in 80 hospitals throughout North America including hospitalized consumers, their visitors, and healthcare professionals. Hospitals rely on HTS to meet Joint Commission for Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) requirements.


Rutgers The State University of New Jersey
With more than 50,000 students on campuses in Camden, Newark, and New Brunswick/Piscataway, Rutgers is one of the nation's major state universities. Chartered in 1766, it has a unique history as a colonial college, a land-grant institution, and a state university. Its 29 degree-granting units offer majors in over 100 fields and thousands of courses.


Center for Advanced Information Processing
CAIP is an Advanced Technology Center established in 1985 and jointly supported by the New Jersey Commission on Science and Technology, Rutgers University, and industry membership. The Center supports forefront computer research in selected signal processing areas, furnishes a focus for industry-academic interactions in those areas, and provides a unique environment for research and education in fundamental disciplines of importance to future industrial development.


Stanford University
Stanford's entrepreneurial spirit, the result of its location in California and the legacy created by Leland and Jane Stanford, has helped spawn an estimated 1,200 companies in high technology and other fields. Particularly notable is Stanford's role in creating the high-technology region known as Silicon Valley. Frederick Terman, provost from 1955 to 1965, is called the "academic architect" of Silicon Valley and is credited with creating the university-industry partnerships that led to the establishment of companies key to the high-technology revolution.

UniCamp is an independently funded non-profit organization that each year inspires nearly 1,000 children from low-income families to envision brighter futures by sending them, along with 350 trained student volunteers/mentors, to its residential outdoor summer camp.  Founded in 1934 and serving as UCLA's official charity since 1948, UniCamp is UCLA's longest-running tradition, the nation's largest university-based camp and is one of the oldest student-organized charities in the country.
