National Science Foundation
The National Science Foundation (NSF) is an
independent federal agency created by Congress in
1950 "to promote the progress of science; to
advance the national health, prosperity, and
welfare; to secure the national defense…" NSF
funds 20 percent of all federally supported basic
research conducted by America's colleges and
universities. In many fields such as mathematics,
computer science and the social sciences, NSF is
the major source of federal backing. |

NASA Goddard Space Flight Center
Established in 1959 as
NASA's first space flight center, Goddard houses
the Nation's largest organization of scientists
and engineers dedicated to studying the Earth,
Sun, Solar System, and Universe. Every day,
Goddard generates 3 Terabytes of data on the
Earth's environment (air, land, and sea) which is
invaluable to industries ranging from land
development to fishing and agriculture to

New Jersey Institute of Technology

The Ministry of Industry, Tourism, and Commerce (MITYC)
defines and executes the Spanish government's
policies to industrial development, and the
promotion of small-to-medium business, tourism,
